Love People Today — Minute Daily Devotional
Jesus speaks in John 13:34 saying, “A new commandment I give you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you are to love one another.” This type of love is continuous. You don’t love someone just one time; you love them every day.
When my grandmother was alive, I made sure she knew I loved her each day. Even when she was near her death, she knew that I loved her based on my words and actions. When she finally passed a few years ago, I didn’t have any regrets because I told her everything she needed to hear while she was alive. I was still grieving and mourning because I missed her, but she knew my love for her prior to her transition.
Many people will go days, weeks, months, and even years before expressing love to a friend or family member. People use the excuse that the loved one should know that they love them based on their actions. However, people have a need to know that they’re loved each day. If you wish to honor a loved one, do it today. Don’t wait until he or she is gone from your life before you express your love. By then, it’s too late. Let you loved ones know you love and care for them each day. They need to hear it from your mouth.
