Hear from God For Yourself — Minute Daily Devotional
Jesus speaks Matt. 13:9 in the Amplified Bible the following: “He who has ears [to hear], let him be listening and let him consider and perceive and comprehend by hearing.”
Often, when people hear from God, they hear through a preacher or a teacher. Though it’s good to listen to godly leaders for spiritual guidance, this shouldn’t be God’s primary means to reach us. Godly leaders can’t be available 24/7 like God can. So we must be able to discern God’s voice for ourselves.
Musicians have to train their ears to identify pitches, chords, melodies, and other numerous aspects of music. This “ear training” is essential for a musician to play with a band effectively. They have to know the characteristics of music, and they have to practice many hours to be able to produce good music.
Likewise, if we’re to hear from God, we must practice listening to him. The way we practice is by studying His Word daily, meditating on His Word, and praying to Him daily. Then we must be willing to be still and listen for that quiet voice that lines up with His Word. It will take time to master the art of hearing God’s voice, but don’t give up. God want to speak to you today!!!
